While Flat Kendall was busy lounging on the beaches of Maui, we packed her up and took her on vacation with us to the Florida Keys. We always make sure we stop at the World Wide Sportsman in Islamorada to check out the latest in sunglasses and beach wear. There’s a restaurant there, as well as a place to wet your whistle.
From there we headed south to the Seven Mile Bridge in Marathon. We once rode our bikes over this bridge when we did Bubba Fest, a bike tour from Key Largo to Key West and back.
There’s a new (since we were last there) restaurant/tiki bar/pool bar at the north (east) end of the bridge. We stopped to have a drink and do some people watching.
At a stop at the Lorelei in Islamorada we found some pretty weird boats – a pink Cadillac boat and a pirate ship. Both were available for hire.
A vacation to the Florida Keys wouldn’t be complete without lots and lots of relaxation. This is the view from the sun deck by the pool at the condo where we like to stay.
Flat Kendall went on lots of adventures while visiting the Keys. Be sure to stop back over the next few days to see what else she was up to.
While you were all on the virtual vacation last week with us, we were off soaking up some real sunshine in the Florida Keys. Since we’ve gone to the same place a number of times before, I decided to focus my photography on dogs we met in the Keys. It started off pretty good. We went to the Pilot House in Key Largo for Happy Hour and ran into these two little guys.
Shakespeare looked right at home
It’s nice to see so many pet friendly places

Sophie from CT. She just had a haircut because she was so hot
We headed down to the World Wide Sportsman one morning and was surprised to see this Doggy Cart. I’ve never, ever seen anything like this. Have you?
I have more Keys Dogs pictures for you later this week.
While we were off in the Keys, Kendall was hanging out with her buddies Jen and Buffy. Kendall had a great time, just as if she were on vacation herself. We’re lucky that we have someone who will watch Kendall in her home when we travel. Usually we take Kendall with us, but I don’t want her to fly. What do you do with your dogs when you travel?
