Cavalier Day is scheduled for the first Sunday of each month at Urban Fauna. They’re now located at 939 SW 10th Ave. in Portland. Cavalier Day is a gathering of Cavaliers and their owners. It gives the dogs a chance to mill about and socialize while the owners visit. It’s from 11 am – 1 pm, and it’s free. Hope to see you there.

Upcoming Dog Events

Now that spring has finally arrived, the number of dog events is increasing. Here are just a few of the dog events coming up in the next couple of weeks.

Northwest Pet & Companion Fair

Saturday, May 5th, and Sunday, May 6th, 10 am – 6 pm

This is held at the Portland Expo Center. For more information click here. There will be vendors, demos, and more. It costs $8 per adult to get in. The site says you can bring your dog, but it gets a little chaotic. We took Kendall a couple of years ago. We plan to be there as a volunteer for Pet Partners/Delta Society. Maybe we’ll see you there.

Cavalier day at Urban fauna

 Sunday, May 6th, 11 am – 1 pm

This event is held the first Sunday of every month at Urban Fauna. If you have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel or have been thinking about getting one, come on down for some Cavalier fun. It’s great to watch the dogs interact, and the people are fun, too. It’s a free event. A paper towel donation is always welcome.

Urban Fauna is located at 939 Southwest 10th Avenue  Portland, OR 97205. They moved a couple of months ago from the north park blocks. Their web site still lists the old address, but Google maps gives you the right location. It’s now closer to the south park blocks. We’ll be here, too.

Oregon Humane society’s Doggie Dash 2012

Saturday, May 12th, 7:30 am – 1 pm

This is always a fun event where they close down the streets of Portland and open it up to people and their canine friends. T-shirt pick up and registration runs 7:30 am to 9 am, then participants take off in waves with their furry friends. The festivities run until 1 pm. You do need to register ahead of time. There will be music, a pancake breakfast for the humans, lots of stuff for the kids and dogs to do, and the proceeds go to a great cause.

Cavalier Day at Urban Fauna is Sunday

After a lengthy absence, Cavalier Day is back on Sunday, February 5th at the new Urban Fauna location. Urban Fauna has moved to 939 SW 10th Ave in downtown Portland. Their web site isn’t up and running yet to show you the new location, but the powers to be that organize Cavalier Day sent out the address. Parking is free on Sundays until 1 pm.

If you own a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and don’t have any plans for 11 am to 1 pm, come out and play. The dogs have a great time mingling while their owners get a chance to chat. It’s FREE but a donation to the charity jar is always welcome.

We hope to see you there. If you can’t make it this Sunday, mark your calendars for future events. This is held on the first Sunday of every month.
